When Amy and I meet with our brides a first look is something we always suggest, well one of my recent brides, Natalie sent me this little note and I wanted to share it with all of you. I think this little note is an answer to some questions that some of you may have about the first look!
Steph,
I just wanted to tell you how much Roy & I appreciate your suggestion of a “first look.” I really wanted to keep my wedding day as traditional as I possibly could, HOWEVER, having a first look BEFORE the ceremony is something I recommend to anyone and everyone. It allowed Roy and I time to take a deep breath together, and gather our emotions instead of the initial shock infront of everyone in the service. I had time to see how handsome my groom was before the wedding, which is something I think goes unnoticed. Everything is so focused on the bride, that often times the groom is overlooked, and I didn’t want that. It also allowed Roy time to take in every detail of my dress, make-up, hair, flowers, shoes, toenail polish…all the small details that meant a lot to me. I cherish these pictures, also, as it captures the emotions so well.
I definitely recommend having a first-look. Trust me, brides, you WON’T regret it.
Here are a few images from their first look

I had such a blast with Jamie and Drew at thier “we did” session!! These two are so much fun and are just so laid back and go with the flow couple! They are both High School Baseball and Softball Coaches! Here are a few of my favs from our session!

Check out these amazing flowers and headbands from my fab photog friend Melissa Darst. Melissa is a photographer in the Southlake area of Dallas and specializes in Childrens portraiture. As of late, she has opened up another business called Little Miss Poppy. I shared some photog love with her and helped her out by photographing some of her products! I absolutely love all of her flowers and love the fact you can wear them in your hair and on your clothes, purses, or neckalaces! You can check her children’s work out here and her Little Miss Poppy site out here .
